I watch a lot of scary movies. Vampires, werewolves, zombies… they’ve got nothing on one other group when it comes to scaring me — serial killers. Even when they’re just fictional characters, I find serial killers to be terrifying not because I expect to come across one any more than a movie monster, but because they represent something real.
These awful excuses for human beings do exist, and they pose a real threat to society. They come in all shapes and sizes, colors, and races. Today we’ll take a quick look at 25 serial killers from around the world. There will be some of the more well-known U.S. and other serial killers, but we’ll also have some from places like Russia, Indonesia, Mexico, China, and more. They aren’t all the most famous serial killers. You’ve probably never heard of some of them. And some of your “favorites” won’t be included here. This list is a little different.
Rather than focusing solely on well-known serial killers (although some will be included), we’re looking at a more diverse group — both men and women, different races and nationalities, etc. Even more importantly, I wanted to take a look at some of the world’s recent and distant serial killers with some of the most disturbing motives or stories.
Keep in mind…. I’m not claiming these are THE most disturbing serial killers. There have been too many for me to ever know about them all, and that would be subjective. These are just some examples of particularly disturbing individuals that caught my attention or made me cringe. If other serial killers top your own personal list, feel free to leave a comment below to tell us about them.
Listropolis' Take:
All the big names are here. I've always been interested in what makes a serial killer tick, and this list kept me busy exploring for almost 30 minutes. Good stuff.

From AskMen.com:
During the '90s, the world was a very different place than it is now. Sitcoms and teen dramas flourished in a world yet to be corrupted by reality TV. Music videos were still relevant. Mike Myers and Adam Sandler were still funny, and the internet had yet to completely take over our lives.
The '90s also introduced us to a multitude of unforgettable females. It was a decade marked by the rediscovery of the blonde bombshell. Curves were decidedly in fashion (as if they ever weren't), and though beach bodies and hourglass figures abounded, we were also fixated on some less conventional beauties: the slender teen sexpot and the sci-fi seductresses. All in all, it was a great decade in which to be a heterosexual male. AM invites you to take a trip down memory lane with us as we count down the top 10 '90s sex symbols.

Um...it's a pain in the ass to see all 7. The list is fairly accurate, except for #6. She's not, and never has been, a sex symbol. The list is worth a look, but expect to get confused navigating the site. Check it out, your mileage may vary - Digg fans seem to really like it.

From Cracked:
Yesterday's story about real-life super-villains left a bad taste in our mouth. Surely those flamboyantly evil criminals have counterparts on the right side of the law: Men of great courage and strength of conviction willing to plunge alone into the criminal underworld, handing out justice like some kind of a man-shaped justice dispenser.
Instead we learned the world is chock full of lunatics who think they're that guy. Men who consider a COPS marathon intensive law enforcement training and are always ready to take to the streets with whatever weapons they found in their garage. They may not make us feel any safer, but they certainly restore our faith in crazy.

From the Site:
He's run a half-marathon in the Arctic Circle region – in bare feet. He's been entombed in ice for 72 straight minutes. He's swum 80 meters beneath a layer of ice. He's climbed partway up Mount Everest, clad only in a pair of shorts.
This man is known, unsurprisingly, as The Iceman. And no, he's not a new character on Heroes – he's a 48-year-old Dutchman named Wim Hof, who has the ability to control his body's temperature through an ancient form of meditation known as Tummo. Though Tummo is normally practiced only by monks, Hof has mastered the art form to such an extent that he never feels cold, even in sub-zero temperatures that could cause severe hypothermia, or even death, should us normal people attempt such stunts.
