It hit me today that a site with nothing but lists, should include iTunes lists. Nothing too fancy - just the top 10 whatever I feel like from iTunes. I'll try to do these regularly, mixed with the other lists, but it should make for an easy way to stay on top of what's popular.
#1.
Cube - fernLightning (iTunes Link)
Cube is a singleplayer and multiplayer first person shooter that provides satisfying and fast oldskool gameplay. This opensource game is built on an entirely new and very unconventional engine. Cube is a landscape-style engine that pretends to be an indoor FPS engine, which combines very high precision dynamic occlusion culling with a form of geometric mipmapping on the whole world for dynamic LOD for configurable fps & graphic detail. Most of the engine design is targeted at reaching feature richness through simplicity of structure and brute force, rather than finely tuned complexity.
This iphone port is provided by fernLightning is a technology demo that supports all of the functionality of the desktop version including multiplayer, in-game editing, cooperative editing, demo recording, etc (though some of these are impractical on the iphone) - please visit the official Cube homepage http://www.cubeengine.com/ for more information. Furthermore we encourage people to check out the newest version of Cube - Cube 2: Sauerbraten - a far more powerful and modern version. fernLighting thanks Wouter van Oortmerssen of dot3labs for his permission to release this port.

I really don't have to explain what a Facebook staus update is, do I? Didn't think so. One of my Facebook friends' status today read, "Dropping the kids off at the pool." If you've read this blog for any length of time, you probably know where my mind went, but it made me wonder if there was a place to find funny status updates that people could "borrow," and it turns out, there is. The status updates in this post are all from a site called The Collection of Funny Facebook Status Updates. What follows are what I consider the 20 best status updates from that site...and they welcome you to use them.

So last month, I had this idea of doing a weekly post featuring photos from Flickr using a popular keyword search. The result was Friday Flickr Tag Fun: 9 “Alaska” Photos. The post did better than I expected, but I forgot all about the idea by the next Friday. Tonight, it hit me like a brick, so I'm going to give it another shot. Here's how it works - each week, I'll check Google Trends for the most popular search, and I'll put that/those keywords into Flickr (Creative Commons), and post the results.
Tonight's most popular search term is Brad Pitt Tattoos. Umm....ok. From what I can gather, Brad Pitt was on Oprah today, and was uncomfortably confronted by a fan. If you want to find out more, just do the search. Here are the pics that came up in Flickr:
1. Brad and Shiloh Pitt

30 Dark, Beautiful Designs For Inspiration
Posted on 19 November 2008 by admin
There are many trends we see popping up in web design, but one that seems to really making a surge is a trend toward dark sites. I'm guessing it has something to do with everyone going "green" these days, and trying to do what they can to help the environment. I don't know if dark sites save much energy, but the sites listed here are stunning! They use the dark to create drama. Adding color to a dark design creates a rich and tasty contrast, and one of the most common features of these sites is the saturated imagery. If you're anything like me, you study amazing sites for inspiration, and hopefully, these won't let you down.

From Cracked:
There are two kinds of people in this world. Some people will look at a construction crane and think "Oh, look, it's a construction crane." Others will look at that same crane and think, "Oh, hey, I've gotta go have sex on that construction crane, right this second." This article's about that second group.

There are probably hundreds of ways to watch tonight's election results, but I've pulled together this list of sites that will have live coverage, or interactive widgets to view the results. This list is obviously not complete, but it should give our readers a great place to start.
#1.
Yahoo News Political Dashboard
I've got to admit, I'm not a huge Yahoo fan, but they've done a nice job with this site. The site features live news updates, and an interactive map with results.
Using Twitter Vote Report, voters will be able to share their experiences and resources with one another (e.g. “#wait:120″ meaning that the wait time is 120 minutes). These messages will then be aggregated and mapped so that we can “see” voting problems around the country in real-time. There doesn't appear to be anything about election results, but it's Twitter, so I'm sure you'll get a good idea. I can see this being fun to watch along with one of the other sites listed.
