In early days blogs were supposed to be simply online diaries and way how to write your thoughts without any business purpose. I will start to write personal blog in my own language as well and that’s because I wanted to find out how many simple and minimalistic themes are available for WordPress. Certainly I got again more than expected, but I tried to narrow article and be picky, but I still got 43 interesting and simplistic themes.

Enjoy typography, white color, grid, white spaces and remember – very often simply good typography and great use of white space is a lot better than theme overloaded with effects, colors, images and too much CSS styling!

Tons of good themes here, and most are perfect for building an amazing site. Use these themes as the structure for your WordPress blog, then add elements for color. Simple and free!

The list has some surprisingly great ideas, and all are very simple to do. If you have a wordpress site, take a minute and read/bookmark this site as a reference.

I've seen it happen so often. People have a great blog, and at some point, they decide they need a new look and feel. They then decide to either buy one or use one of the free themes available at wordpress.org. There's a couple of things they'll look at, usually in the order: layout / look and feel, usability and optionally, room for advertising.

If the theme meets their needs in all two or three of these points, they download it and start installing it. If that's what you do too, this theme checklist is for you!

A theme has quite a few things it has to take care of, and a lot of themes out there don't take care of all of these. This is a checklist that should help you prevent getting into trouble when you start using a new theme.

Free WordPress themes are a dime a dozen these days, but every so often, you'll run across a theme so great, you just can't believe it's free. I've seen other WordPress Theme lists, and most of them duplicate themes, so I've decided to compile a list of what I think are the 35 best free wordpress themes that you might not have seen yet.

All of the themes below have demos, and can be downloaded for free. You're also welcome to customize the themes as you like, and as good as these themes already are, with a little customization, you can have a stellar site with very little work - just make sure you read the licensing disclaimers before you go too crazy.

This theme is very similar to PopUrls, which is, as described by its founder, the ultimate source for the latest web buzz and news. I'm a HUGE fan of PopUrls, making this theme one of my new favorites.
