If you're not a reader of Neatorama, you need to be. Being the first blog I ever subscribed to, Neatorama has a special place in my heart, and serves as a constant source of (albeit strange) inspiration. Below are 12 of my favorite posts from the blog, and hopefully, if you're not already, they'll help you become as big a fan of the site as I am.
#1 - Vote for John McClane!
I'm not a huge Bruce Willis fan, and I'm not a huge Die Hard Sequels fan, but my name is Shaun McLane, so everytime a new Die Hard movie comes out, I get an extra cool point. Funny post none-the-less.
#2 - Six Houses Guaranteed to Make Yours Look Puny
I'm a real estate broker by day, so anything to do with houses usually gets my attention. The houses listed here are amazing!
#3 - Pulling Down a Palm Tree
This one's a video, and I'll leave it to you to go check it out - it's so worth your time. You'll probably know the outcome the second the video starts, but I promise you'll watch the whole thing.
#4 - Transformer Furnitures
I was a child of the 80s, and remember when Transformers were die-cast metal - not the cheap plastic knocks-offs kids have today. Anything that transforms into something else ranks pretty high up on my list of favorites.
#5 - Take a Stroll Down Computing Memory Lane
Strolling through computer history is always fun. I think the first computer I used was an Apple IIe, but I'm not positive. I do remember spending way too much time on a TRS-80, and the images in this post bring back nightmares.
#6 - “Flash” Mountain and Other Disney Secrets
Well, would you look at that. This was the first post from Listropolis that made it on Neatorama, and I was truly honored. If you've spent anytime on my blog, you've probably already seen this, but if you're new here, it's worth a look.
#7 - Dancing Liquid
Creeeeeeeepy. I'll say it again - this video is creepy. This is the sort of stuff that keeps me checking google reader every few hours to see if Neatorama has added anything. If you only click on one link from this post, make it this one.
#8 - Stripes
This was just added today, but it's already one of my favorites. It doesn't make much sense until you see it in action. Good stuff.
#9 - The 5 Smallest Countries in the World
This one gets me for the real estate side AND the fact that it's a list. I had no idea about most of these places, but all of them sound incredible.
#10 - The 100 Most Influential Taglines Since 1948
How the hell did "Where's the Beef" end up at #4? Not sure I agree with this list, but it's a great list and worth a read. It's interesting to see how taglines have evolved over time.
So, those are my 10 favorite. Now it's time to tell me yours. Tell me about your favorite Neatorama post in the comments.
